I believe that the UI is the tip of the iceberg. A great designer architects the underlying logic, data structures, and component relationships that allow a product to scale without friction.
Clarity before optimization
Removing friction is secondary to establishing understanding. If a user doesn't know where they are or what they can do, optimization is irrelevant. Clarity is the foundation of trust.
